Our Gallery of Websites

Enough talk, let's look at some of our website work.

mini-critters is the leading pet store in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.  They sell all the typical things a pet store sells: dogs, cats, birds, fish and all the supplies, plus have grooming and boarding services.

They compete against the big chain stores by providing great service.

Their website needed to encompass the whole range of products and services that they offer.  Plus highlight some of the things that aren't available at the big box stores. We did that by creating a banner ad image in the bottom portion of the left-hand column.  The text starts out "Did You Know..." and goes on to tell about something exclusive at mini-critters

We also wanted just a little bit of eye-candy.  In the top left of the the site there is a paw-print that is taken from their logo (it's used to do the "I"s).  There are about 20 different animals that take turns sitting in front of the pawprint.  They fade in and out every so often as you're browsing the site.

Jerry Dahmen is the News Director of KXRB radio in Sioux Falls.

For the last 20 years, Jerry has been searching out the unique stories of people who have faced incredible obstacles and overcome them.  He tells those stories in a syndicated daily radio program called "I Love Life."

He's the author of two collections of the stories and has also put together several CD anthologies, which he sells for the benefit of various charities.

His website needed to promote his book and CD sales locations for local listeners but also allow non-local buyers to purchase product directly from his site.

Jerry has had a lot of acclaim in his career, he's won a Peabody Award (it's the journalism equivalent of the Academy Award in movies.  Also, a lot of people have had some very nice things to say about him.  We took some of those and created a section at the top of the page that updates with another accolade every time you load a new page.

Underdog Studios is a recording studio in Mesa, Arizona. They search out and develop undiscovered bands, then record them and promote the music.

Their site was aimed at helping them do two things;  find new talent, and create fans of the bands they have recorded.

Underdog Studios wanted the ability to capture email addresses of fans, so they could notify them when they put up new music or a new group. To get them to give out a real email address, they allow registered users to listen and sometimes download music from their site.  The registration process is fairly easy.  A user clicks on the Register link in the Login Form in the left column.  They then fill out a small form that includes their email.  The site then automatically sends them an email asking for confirmation.  Once clicked, they're members and have total access to the site.

Results Radio is a group of six radio stations in Sioux Falls, SD.

While employed there, I developed all six of the station websites, converting them from a local hosting company to self managed sites.  One of the sites, www.ksoo.com, was named the Best Radio Station Website by the state Associated Press.

Some special features include current weather conditions and forecasts, album covers showing the song currently playing on the air, and lots of news and things like schools closings (it's a Winter Storm market) that are added to one site and shared across all six of the station sites.

Others are in control of the sites now, so I can't take credit for their current development.  The screen captures reflect the state of the sites while under my care.

Well, who did you think designed it?

Some of the special features include the pop-up example images (click on any of the website examples on this page to see it), the cool fading work examples on the header,.
